June 3, 2005

SKILLMAN, N.J. - Washington senior Dea Sumantri and sophomore Dinka Hadzic both appeared in the final singles and doubles rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, Friday.

Sumantri finished the season ranked 22nd in singles and 46th in doubles with partner Hadzic, who also ranked 96th in singles. Both Huskies were All-Pac-10 honorees earlier this season, with Sumantri making the second-team and Hadzic making the honorable mention squad.

For Sumantri, it marks the end of her prolific Husky career. The two-time All-American was named the ITA Northwest Region Senior Player of the Year last month and led the squad with an overall singles record of 27-15. She was ranked as high as fifth in singles this year, marking the second time a Husky has broken into the Top-10. Sumantri finished her career second on the UW's all-time lists for singles (102) and doubles wins (85).

Hadzic, who was the Huskies' solid No. 2 singles player, finished the season with a 17-16 record. As a doubles pair, Sumantri and Hadzic finished with a record of 15-13 and advanced as far as the semifinals of the Pac-10 Championships.
