Cochran Tied for Ninth at U.S. Women's Open

UCLA sophomore Amie Cochran was tied for ninth place at the 60th U.S. Women's Open, hosted at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, CO.

Cochran posted rounds of 76-69 - 145 (+3) and trailed the leader, Nicole Perrot of Chile, by five shots. Amateur Michelle Wie was second at even par 142.

Annika Sorenstam, the world's top-ranked player, was six strokes off the pace at four-over par 146. Sorenstam, trying to become the first female golfer to win the Grand Slam, posted a 75 on Friday.

Former UCLA standout Hana Kim, an LPGA rookie, and incoming freshman Jane Park missed the 36-hole cut.
