Lindsay Allen Captures USA Junior 3,000 Meter Title

Carson, Ca - Lindsay Allen, who just completed her freshman season at Stanford University, captured the 3,000 meter steeplechase during third day action (Saturday) at the 2005 United States Junior Track & Field Championship.

Allen ran the distance in a time of 10:37.94. Marie Lawrence was second (10:40.95). Allen's victory at the Junior Nationals earns her a berth on Team USA which will compete at the 2005 Pan American Junior Track & Field Championship in late July in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

Allen is the second Stanford athlete to make the United States Junior team. Two days ago, Wopamo Osaisai finished second in the 100 meters (10.58).

The U.S. Senior and Junior Nationals will conclude on Sunday.
