Cochran Ties for 50th at U.S. Women's Open

UCLA sophomore Amie Cochran tied for 50th place at the 60th U.S. Women's Open, hosted at the Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, CO.
Cochran posted a final round score of 77 (+6) and compiled a 72-hole total of 302 (+18). She was 15 shots behind the winner.
Birdie Kim of South Korea won her first major championship by holing out a bunker shot for birdie on the 72nd hole to break a logjam of players tied at the top of the leaderboard Sunday. Amateurs Brittany Lang and Morgan Pressel tied for second place at 289 (+5).
Top-ranked Annika Sorentstam, trying to become the first female to win the Grand Slam, tied for 23rd at 296 (+12) after posting a 77 in the final round.
In other news, former UCLA All-American Charlotte Mayorkas tied for 5th place in her second FUTURES Tour event. Mayorkas posted rounds of 73-71-72-216 (E) at the Bank of Ann Arbor Classic Sunday. She won $2,227, her biggest paycheck in two appearances.
