Follow The Diamond Dawgs In Pro Ball

July 2, 2005

There are currently 19 former Washington players in professional baseball, including two Major Leaguers -- Todd Linden (San Francisco) and Chris Magruder (Milwaukee).

Following is a list of former Dawgs in affiliated pro ball, with their current affiliation, team, league and level. Obviously, as players move from one team to another or one level to another, this list is subject to frequent changes.

Additionally, several former Diamond Dawgs are currently active in independent leagues. Pitcher Randy Vanderplow, who was in the New York Yankees organization earlier this year, plays on the Gary-Southshore RailCats in the Northern League. Recently departed third baseman Nick Batkoski has signed with the Ohio Valley Redcoats (Troy, Ill.) in the Frontier League and his classmate, pitcher David Dowling, is now a member of Rockford (Ill.) Riverhawks, also in the Frontier League.

The website is probably the best source for player statistics. Users can search for any minor leaguer's stats on the front page of the site.
