Al-Agba Named To USA Tennis Collegiate Summer Team
July 11, 2005
Having completed his sophomore season at USC ranked No. 20, Jamil Al-Agba continues to receive national recognition. The 2005 ITA All-American was recently named one of six members of the men's USA Tennis Collegiate Summer Team.
The squad was formed to give the nation's top collegiate tennis players exposure to the USTA Pro Circuit. A men's and a women's team of six players each will meet and play during the summer months under the tutelage of USTA High Performance coaches Lori McNeil and David Roditi.
Al-Agba was a wild-card selection to the men's team, joining Harvard's Jonathan Chu, Illinois' Ryler DeHeart, Georgia's John Isner, Stanford's Sam Warburg and Kentucky's Jesse Witten. Al-Agba competed in the NCAA Division I Men's Championships as a singles and doubles player, winning his first-round singles match to finish the 2005 season with a singles record of 17-17 and at No. 20 in the nation.
