Desiree Stahley 12th In 500 Free On First Day Of Janet Evans Invitational

Los Angeles, Calif. - Current Stanford swimmer Desiree Stahley (2005-06 junior) finished 12th in the 500 free on the first day of the Janet Evans Invitational taking place this Thursday-Sunday at the McDonald Swim Stadium on the campus of the University of Southern California. Stahley finished the long-course meters event in a time of 9:01.67. Hayley Peirsol (Novaquatics) won the event in a time of 8:37.83.
The meet continues Friday on the women's side with the 100 free, 200 fly, 200 back, 400 free and 400 free relay.
The event is the last of four stops on the Grand Prix circuit leading up to the FINA World Championships (July 24-31) in Montreal, Canada, and the World University Games (August 12-17) in Izmir, Turkey.
