PULLMAN, Wash. -- Sara Trané, an intermediate hurdler and 800m runner, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Washington State University and compete for the Cougar Track & Field team beginning this fall, Head Coach Rick Sloan announced Thursday.
Trané, an incoming freshman from Pixbo, Sweden, has run the 400m hurdles in a time of 62.01 seconds and has an 800m best time of 2-minutes, 11.17 seconds.
'Sara has an exciting range of talent,' said Mark Macdonald, WSU's assistant coach for sprinters and hurdlers. 'She ran a 300m hurdles time of 43.5 seconds and shows good potential to develop into a solid 400m hurdles runner.'
Trané will compete in both the 400m hurdles and 800m race at the Junior National Meet in Sweden Aug. 13.
