Draganja Earns Silver at World Championships

MONTREAL -- Five Current and former members of the Cal men's swim program made their mark at the XI FINA World Championships in Montreal (July 24-31).

Recent graduate Duje Draganja, competing for Croatia, led the way with a second place-finish in the 50-meter free (21.89), a fifth-place finish in the 100 free (48.89) and a seventh-place showing in the 50 fly (23.96).

Bartosz Kizierowski, who serves as a volunteer assistant coach for Cal and competes for Poland, took third in the 50 free (21.94).

Also representing the Bears were former Cal competitor Alex Lim (Malaysia), who finished 10th in the semis of the 50 backstroke (25.78), current senior Milorad Cavic (Serbia), who placed 10th in the semis of both the 50 fly (24.03) and the 100 fly (53.06), and junior Rolandas Gimbutis (Lithuania), who took 16th in the semis of the 100 free (50.42).
