Aug. 4, 2005

Bandon, OR - Washington junior Alex Prugh enters Friday's final round of play at the 39th Pacific Coast Amateur Championships two strokes off the lead. After shooting 2-under 70 for the second day in a row, Prugh stands at 4-under 212 after 54 holes of play at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort.

Prugh continues to trail BYU's Clay Ogden, who also carded a 70 on Thursday. Ogden used an eagle on his final hole to maintain the two-stroke lead he started the third round with. Ogden won the U.S. Amateur Public Links title earlier this year. Prugh and Ogden are the only players in the field under par after three rounds.

Husky senior James Lepp posted the best score of the day, firing a three-under 68 to move into a tie for fifth at 1-over 217. Lepp won the championship two years ago.

Washington sophomore Joe Panzeri is two shots behind Lepp at 219 after posting a 72 during his third round. Erik Olson is at 222 while Zach Bixler shot 75 to stand at 229 after Thursday's play.
