Men's Golf to Compete in 2005 Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge

For the second outing of the 2005-2006 schedule for the Arizona State Men's golf team, the Sun Devils will travel to Glenview, Ill. to compete in the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge held at par-72, 7,149 yard Glen Club.

Sun Devil Alejandro Canizares placed first last year in the Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge carding the lowest winning individual score of 142 in 36 holes.

The two day event will run though Oct. 3-4, consisting of 36 holes played Monday and 18 holes played on Tuesday for a total of 54 holes.The Sun Devil lineup for this year's event will consist of four returnees and one newcomer.

Newcomer Benjamin Alvarado Holley, 2003 NCAA champion and three-time All-American Alejandro Canizares, 2005 All-American Niklas Lemke, senior Lenny Park and sophomore Phil Telliard make up ASU's five-man squad.

The field for the 2005 Big Ten/Pac-10 Challenge includes: Arizona, Arizona State, California, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue, UCLA, USC, and Washington.
