Arizona's Kristina Baum Named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona opposite Kristina Baum has been named Pac-10 Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 10 - 16, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Baum, a junior from Whittier, Calif., helped lead the Wildcats to wins over No. 3 Stanford and No. 13 California. In the upset over the Cardinal, she posted career highs with 17 kills and 13 digs, her second double-double of the season. Against the Golden Bears, she posted 11 kills and added eight digs.
Baum averaged 3.50 kills and 2.62 digs last weekend, well above the 2.30 kills and 1.75 digs she had been averaging heading into last weekend's matches.
No. 8 Arizona (14-2, 6-1) will travel to Los Angeles next weekend, facing No. 21 UCLA on Fri., Oct. 21 and No. 19 USC on Sat., Oct. 22.
This is Baum's first weekly honor and Arizona's 23rd Player of the Week honor all-time.
