LePeilbet Helps US Women's National Team to 0-0 Tie with Australia

Oct. 17, 2005

TEMPE, Ariz. - Amy LePeilbet, a former standout member of the Arizona State University soccer program, earned her ninth career cap for the US Women's National Team Sunday as she helped the Americans to a 0-0 tie in an international friendly with Australia in Fullerton, Calif.

Following a four-day camp under Head Coach Greg Ryan, LePeilbet earned the start at the center of the defensive back line and contributed to the American's string of 838 minutes without allowing a goal in 2005. The shutout was the ninth in a row for the WNT.

LePeilbet and the WNT will now travel to Charleston, S.C., this week for five days of training before closing out their 2005 schedule when they face arch-rival Mexico in a 1 p.m. match Sunday, Oct. 23, at Blackbaud Stadium. The defense will be looking to make history this weekend in the ESPN2 televised match as they will try to complete one year worth of matches without allowing a goal scored.
