Oct. 17, 2005
USC junior tailback Reggie Bush was named the Pac-10 Football Offensive Player of the Week for his performance at Notre Dame.
Bush accounted for 265 all-purpose yards and scored three touchdowns in top-ranked USC's 34-31 win at No. 9 Notre Dame. He rushed 15 times for 160 yards (10.7-yard average) and three touchdowns on runs of 36, 45 and nine yards. In addition, he had four receptions for 35 yards, four kickoff returns of 57 yards and three punt returns for 13 yards. It marked the fifth consecutive game Bush has topped the 100-yard rushing mark. He currently leads the nation in all-purpose yards.
Bush becomes the first player to earn offensive player of the week honors twice this season, having previously been cited for his play in USC's win at Oregon. This is the fifth time in his career that Bush has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week.
Also honored this week by the Pac-10 were Oregon State linebacker Keith Ellison (defense) and punter Sam Paulescu (special teams).
