The first half of league play will come to an end with ARIZONA and ARIZONA STATE traveling to Los Angeles to meet UCLA and USC, while the Oregon schools entertain the Washington schools ... A big Bay Area showdown looms as No. 5 STANFORD meets No. 14 CALIFORNIA in Berkeley ... This week's FSN match features Washington State at Oregon State. Chris McGee and Holly McPeak will call the action for FSN ... The victorious are making quick work of their opponents. In 36 conference matches played to date, 28 have been decided in three games. Four matches have gone four games, while another four matches have gone the distance of five games ... Six Pac-10 teams remain in the AVCA Top 25 - No. 2 Washington, No. 5 Stanford, No. 8 Arizona, No. 14 California, No. 19 USC and No. 21 UCLA ... The Pac-10 owns a 72-24 (.750) record in non-conference play ... Here's this week's schedule:

ARIZONA - The Wildcats snapped a five-match losing streak to Stanford with a five-game victory over the Cardinal. Senior OH Kim Glass led the way with a season-high 27 kills, while sophomore S Amy Dyck added a career-high 69 assists ... Arizona drew 6,189 fans for its match with Stanford, the fourth highest total in Conference history ... Senior MB Bre Ladd needs 21 kills to reach 1,000 kills for her career ... Arizona is 4-2 against ranked opponents this season and will face No. 21 UCLA and No. 19 USC this week.

ARIZONA STATE - Junior OH Nina Reeves collected 20 kills (3.33 kpg) on the weekend, including a 14-kill performance against California, which was one shy of her season-high 15 kills vs. Notre Dame on Sept. 4 ... Junior MB Tierra Burnley was averaging 0.21 blocks per game in league play, collecting just one block in eight games prior to last weekend's matches. She responded with five blocks against the Bay Area schools, averaging 1.00 block per game. Burnley ranks second on the squad with 0.74 blocks per game.

CALIFORNIA - Senior OH Jenna Brown needs 29 kills to reach 1,000 career kills. When she accomplishes that feat, she'll be the fifth player in Cal history to record 1,000 kills/1,000 digs. She's nine kills away from being 10th on Cal's career kills list. Her 1,020 digs rank ninth on the school's all-time digs chart ... Junior S Samantha Carter is now third on Cal's career assists list with 3,701 assists ... Junior L Jillian Davis is now 10th on the career dig list (998) behind Brown ... Sophomore OH Angie Pressey continues to lead the Bears in kills (249), kills per game (4.45) and points (284.5) ... The Bears host Stanford next in the Big Spike on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. Cal has defeated Stanford at Haas Pavilion in each of the last two seasons. This was after having lost to the Cardinal in 40-straight matches (prior to 2003, Cal hadn't defeated Stanford since Oct. 1, 1982).

OREGON - Freshman Mira Djuric has led the Ducks in kills in 11 of 18 matches, including five of seven Pac-10 matches. She leads Oregon with 4.05 kills per game in Pac-10 play ... Oregon will look to snap a 22-match Conference losing skid as it hosts Washington and Washington State this weekend. Oregon's last Pac-10 victory came last season against Washington State.

OREGON STATE - Senior S Desma Stovall has 1,792 career assists, good for fifth on the all-time list at Oregon State ... Junior MB Abby Windell picked up eight blocks (2.67 bpg) in the victory over Oregon. That was one shy of matching her career best of nine blocks set against Oral Roberts on Sept. 10, 2004 ... Junior MB Brittany Cahoon picked up four blocks against the Ducks and now ranks ninth in the Pac-10, averaging 1.10 bpg ... OSU has won four straight over Washington State and will host the Cougars Friday.

STANFORD - The Cardinal are 306-44 all-time in Pac-10 play. Of those 44 loses, only four have come against non-ranked league opponents (Oregon in 1986 and 1989, Arizona State and Washington State in 2000). In Oregon's case, the Ducks were ranked the following week after each of their victories ... Junior OH Kristin Richards needs 79 kills to catch Nancy Reno in tenth place (1,221, 1984-87) on Stanford's career top-10 list ... Freshman OH Cynthia Barboza continues to lead all Pac-10 players with 288 kills. The only other freshman ever to lead the Pac-10 in kills was UCLA's Kristee Porter with 609 in 1998.

UCLA - Freshman OH Kaitlin Sather picked up her sixth double-double of the season with 10 kills/12 digs against Washington State ... Junior OH Colby Lyman has 10 service aces in the last four matches. Only two Bruins have more service aces for the entire season - Sather (18) and freshman S Nellie Spicer (12) ... In the 19 previous seasons of Pac-10 play, the Bruins have never closed the first half of league play with a losing mark. In order to make that 20 straight seasons, the Bruins will need to sweep the Arizona schools this weekend ... Head coach Andy Banachowski now needs six wins for 1,000 on his career.

USC - The Women of Troy hit a season-high .402 in their three-game sweep of Washington State, but unfortunately followed that with a season-low .062 attack percentage in the loss at Washington ... Senior OH Staci Venski is hitting .365 over the last four matches, collecting 59 kills in 137 attempts with just nine errors ... Junior L Debora Seilhamer needs 21 digs to reach 1,000 digs for her career ... The Women of Troy join Arizona and Washington as the only league teams to remain undefeated at home this season.

WASHINGTON - Coach Jim McLaughlin needs two wins to reach 100 victories at the helm of the Huskies. In his fifth season, he's posted a record of 98-39 record ... Senior L Candace Lee climbed up to second all-time on the Pac-10 career digs list with 1,726 digs. Only former UCLA Bruin Chrissie Zartman has more with 2,065 ... The Huskies drew 5,099 fans for their match with USC. It was the second largest crowd in UW history and the ninth largest in Pac-10 history ... The Huskies held USC to 16 points in game two of their three-game sweep over the Women of Troy. The 16 points were the fewest scored by the Women of Troy since rally scoring began in 2001 ... In its two victories last week over UCLA and USC, Washington's average game victory came by a +9.7 margin (30 to 20.3).

WASHINGTON STATE - The Cougars hit the road for four straight league matches. They'll conclude the first half of Conference action at the Oregon schools, then open the second half of league play at the Arizona schools. Of WSU's eight victories this season, six have come away from home ... Freshman walk-on MB Kelly Russell tallied six blocks (2.00 bpg) against USC. Prior to that match, she had seen action in just nine games, tallying 10 blocks for the season ... Freshman OH Brittany Johnson matched her career-high with 10 kills against UCLA.
