Bruins Welcome Washington Schools to Drake Stadium

Bruins Return Home to Face Washington, Washington St.
Following a pair of shutout victories over the Oregon schools last weekend, the fourth-ranked UCLA women's soccer team (13-1; 3-0 Pac-10) returns home this week to host Washington (0-12-3; 0-4) and Washington State (8-6-1; 1-3) at Drake Stadium. Action begins with the Bruins and Huskies on Friday at 7:00 p.m. UCLA took last year's meeting in Seattle 5-1, and leads the all-time series 8-2-1. Washington has not defeated UCLA since 2000 and has not won in Westwood since 1995. On Sunday, the Bruins host Washington State, a team that handed them a 1-0 loss in Pullman last season. UCLA leads the all-time series 9-2-1 and had won nine straight over the Cougars prior to last season's loss. UCLA Takes Two in Oregon
The Bruins are coming off a very successful road trip in Oregon last week, posting a pair of 3-0 victories over both Oregon and Oregon State. The standout performance of the week came from freshman Kara Lang, who had a hand in four of the six goals scored. She had two assists in the Oregon match and a pair of goals against Oregon State.

Bruins Check in at No. 4 in National Polls
The Bruins remain the fourth-ranked team in the country this week in the four polls issued by NSCAA/adidas, Soccer America, Soccer Buzz and Soccer Times. UCLA's lone loss on the season was to top-ranked Penn State in overtime. The Bruins, who have been ranked in the top-six all season, began the year ranked No. 3 (NSCAA/adidas).

Mora Secures No. 2 Spot on All-Time Scoring List
Forward Iris Mora's two assists last week put her into sole possession of second place on the UCLA career scoring charts with 90 points. She entered the week tied with Staci Duncan, who now ranks third with 88 pts. Traci Arkenberg ranks No. 1 all-time at UCLA with 169 career points. Mora's 32 career assists already ranks No. 1, while her 29 career goals is good enough for sixth place.

Kelsey Davis Makes First Start in Goal
Freshman goalkeeper Kelsey Davis registered the first start of her college career last Friday, getting the nod in UCLA's 3-0 victory over Oregon. Davis, who was one of the top recruits in the county this year and is a youth national team member, played the full 90 minutes, making five saves. She also played the final 15 minutes of the Bruins' 3-0 victory over Oregon State on Sunday.

UCLA in the National Statistics
As a team, UCLA ranks fourth in winning percentage (0.92), eighth in goals against average (0.42), and tied for 10th in shutout percentage (0.64). Individually, Valerie Henderson ranks 13th in goals against average (0.52), Iris Mora is tied for 14th in assists per game (0.64), and Danesha Adams is tied for 20th in goals per game (0.86.).

Head Coach Jillian Ellis
Jillian Ellis is in her seventh season as head coach of the UCLA women's soccer team. The NSCAA/adidas National Coach of the Year in 2000, Ellis owns a 123-26-5 record at UCLA and is 142-44-5 overall, which includes two seasons at the University of Illinois. Ellis has guided the Bruins to the NCAA Tournament in each of her six seasons, highlighted by three trips to the NCAA College Cup. (2000, 2003 and 2004). Her 2000 and 2004 squads reached the national championship games.
