Oct. 22, 2005

San Diego, Calif. - Women's tennis player Laura Gordon, UCLA's last remaining hope for a title at the ITA Regionals, was forced to pull out of her quarterfinal singles match Saturday after suffering an injury during doubles play.

Gordon, who was supposed to play top-seeded Amanda Fink of USC, was playing a third-round doubles match with teammate Ashley Joelson when the injury occured. Gordon's injury concluded UCLA's involvement in the singles draw.

UCLA's Tracy Lin and Elizabeth Lumpkin advanced to the quarterfinals in doubles before falling to Pepperdine's Dickes/Dulgheru, 8-6.
