Rudy Carpenter Named Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Week

TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University quarterback Rudy Carpenter has been named the Pacific-10 Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced today. Carpenter, a redshirt freshman from Westlake, Calif., was 27-34 for 401 yards and three touchdowns in his first career start, a 44-20 win over Washington on Saturday. Carpenter also scored a rushing touchdown, leading Arizona State to 478 yards of total offense in the win over the Huskies.
Carpenter is the fourth Sun Devil to earn a Player of the Week award this season. Dale Robinson, Terry Richardson, and Jamar Williams also earned Player of the Week honors earlier this season.
