Ley Leads Final-Round Trojan Effort

Senior Taylor Wood was USC's highest overall finisher while senior Tyler Ley fired a team-best 2-under-par 70 in the final round of the first CordeValle Collegiate at CordeValle C.C. in San Martin, Calif., on Tuesday (Nov. 1).

The Trojans finished tied for 11th among 15 teams with a 54-hole score of 882 (+18) after rounds of 291 and 295 on Monday and 296 (+6) on Tuesday. Host UCLA won with a three-round score of 849 (-15).

Wood finished tied for 18th at 217 (+1) after a final-round 75. Ley was a stroke back at 218, tied for 23rd, after a 70 today that featured six birdies.

Freshman Ryan Linton carded a 75 (+3) Tuesday and finished with a 222 (+6), tied for 42nd. Senior Bradley Shaw posted a 76 (+4) and finished tied for 58th with a 227 (+11) while junior Jordan Nasser had a final-round 78 (+6) to finish tied for 68th at 229 (+13).

The Trojans wrap up play for the calendar year with this tournament. They're next in action on Feb. 8-10 at the Taylor Made Intercollegiate in Waikola, Hawaii.
