Moreno, Cho Lead Troy At Kent Youel Invitational

The USC women's golf team, led by top-6 efforts by sophomore Paola Moreno and senior Irene Cho, led after the first round at the Kent Youel Invitational at the Kapolei Golf Course in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Second round results were not yet available at posting.

USC finished first with a combined 294 (+6), four strokes ahead of second-place Cal (298) and was followed by Baylor (299), Stanford (301) and Long Beach State (302). There are 18 teams in the field but only four within eight strokes of the Trojans.

Moreno fired a 2-under 70 to tie for second overall after the first round while Cho was 1-over at 73 (tied for sixth).

Sophomore Dewi-Claire Schreefel finished at 74 (tied for 10th), junior Veronica Felibert was at 77 (tied for 27th) and junior Catalina Marin finished with a 78 (tied for 36th).

Teams were scheduled to play a second round today and finish with 18 holes on Wednesday morning.
