Kelly Husted Crowned Individual Champion At Kent Youel Invitational

Kapolei, Hi. - Paced by individual medalist Kelly Husted, the Stanford women's golf team took second at the Kent Youel Invitational, shooting a 902 (+38) for the tournament. Southern California took top honors, winning by six strokes with an 896 over three rounds. Long Beach State (907) placed third, followed by California (913) and Baylor (920).
Senior golfer Kelly Husted shot a one-under par 71 on the final day of competition to post a nine stroke victory over the rest of the field. Husted shot a four-under 212 (69-72-71) to record her first collegiate individual title. USC's Irene Cho was second (221) while LBSU's Kay Hoey finished third (223).
Cardinal Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana tied for eighth individually, posting a 10-over 226 (75-72-79). Teammate Stephanie Lue tied for 18th with a 231 (78-76-77). Freshman Mari Chun tied for 32nd (79-76-80--235) along with Lauren Todd (79-78-78--235).
