USC To Host Cal State Dominguez Hills in Exibition Opener

The USC men's basketball team will play their first exhibition game of the season vs. Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday, Nov. 4 in the Lyon Center at 7:30 p.m. The game will be the first for new head basketball coach Tim Floyd, who was named USC's coach on Jan. 14 and officially assumed the duties on April 1.
The Trojans return last season's top three scorers in sophomore guard Gabe Pruitt (12.3 ppg), junior guard Lodrick Stewart (12.1 ppg) and sophomore guard/forward Nick Young (11.1 ppg). Also returning for USC this season are senior guard Dwayne Shackleford (5.2 ppg), senior forward Greg Gaudino (0.5 ppg), junior forward Reed Doucette (0.8 ppg) and junior guard Chris Penrose (0.7 ppg)
The Trojans have to replace six graduated seniors, including all the interior players who played significant minutes last season, and have done that with a highly regarded recruiting class. New to USC this season are freshman forwards Jeremy Barr (Westbury Christian HS, Tex.), RouSean Cromwell (IMG Academy, Fla.), Keith Wilkinson (Capistrano Valley HS, Calif.), junior center Abdoulaye N'diaye (College of Southern Idaho), and freshman guards Ryan Francis (Glen Oaks HS, La.), Adam Goldston (Montclair Prep, Calif.), Ryan Goldston (Montclair Prep), Sead Odzic (Niles West HS, Ill.) and Collin Robinson (Diamond Bar HS, Calif.).
The Trojans only other exhibition game will be on Sunday, Nov. 13 vs. Cal State San Bernardino. That game will start at 2 p.m. and will also be at the Lyon Center.
USC will begin the regular season on Sunday, Nov. 20 when they host Cal State Northridge at the Sports Arena in a 2 p.m. game.
