One More Exhibition Showdown For USC Women

Nov. 6, 2005

The early goings of the 2005-06 women's basketball season continue this week for the Women of Troy when Team Concept comes to the Lyon Center for USC's second exhibition game of the year. The squads are set to face off at 7 p.m. on Monday (Nov. 7) at the Lyon Center.

USC's exhibition opener was last week against Vanguard, and the Women of Troy rallied back from a tight halftime score to post a 76-63 win in exhibition play. Next up is Monday's clash with Team Concept, bringing back former Trojan player Rometra Craig. A 2004 USC graduate, Craig suits up for Team Concept this season to switch gears and face off against several former Trojan teammates.

The Women of Troy -- ranked No. 22 in USA Today/ESPN's preseason poll -- will open the regular season in style with a trip to Hawai'i for the Waikiki Beach Marriott Classic in Honolulu from Nov. 19-20. There, USC will face the host Rainbows and also Eastern Washington. The nonconference schedule picks right back up Nov. 23 at head coach Mark Trakh's alma mater, Long Beach State, before the Women of Troy take flight once more to face Notre Dame on Nov. 27. Upon its return, USC will settle into a stretch of seven games that will keep it in familiar territory for the ride into Pac-10 play. The Trojans' home opener is against TCU at 1 p.m. on Dec. 4 at the Sports Arena.
