What's Happening This Week: The Washington State women's basketball team plays its final exhibition game against Lewis-Clark State, Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m. in a game that will be held at Bohler Gym...admission to the exhibition is free...the Cougars open the regular season at home against Pepperdine, Friday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. at Beasley Coliseum.

Second Straight Year At Bohler: Friday's game marks the second consecutive year WSU has played an exhibition game at Bohler...last year, WSU defeated Team Concept 67-46...the last regular season game played by WSU at Bohler took place Dec. 10, 1996 when the team played Stanford.

Cougars Win First Exhibition: Propelled by a pair of 13-0 runs, the Cougars defeated Baden Sports 73-58 in an exhibition game Oct. 31 at Friel Court...junior Adriane Ferguson (Spokane, Wash.) led a quartet of Cougars who scored in double figures with 19 points...freshman Katie Appleton (14 points), junior Kate Benz (13 points) and senior Charmaine Jones (11 points) also reached double-digits in points...WSU opened the game by scoring 13 straight points...after missing their initial field goal attempt, the Cougars made five consecutive shots in the run, which was capped by a 3-pointer from Benz...WSU built as much as a 19-point lead in the first half before heading into halftime with a 34-21 the second half, Baden Sports managed to shave its deficit to as little as eight at 48-40 with 11:11 remaining...the Cougars thwarted Baden Sports with their second run of 13 unanswered points to open their largest lead of the game at 61-40 with 7:46 remaining...the Cougars' lead did not fall below double figures the rest of the way.

Cougar Notes: Sophomore Jordan McCormick has been dismissed from the team for failure to adhere to team policy...McCormick played in eight games last year averaging two points and a rebound a contest...the Cougars were picked ninth in both the Pacific-10 Conference coaches and media poll...WSU finished ahead of Oregon State in each poll...Cougar fans can be treated to a doubleheader Apple Cup Eve (Nov. 18) as the Pepperdine game is scheduled for 5 p.m. at Beasley while the volleyball team's match against Oregon State follows at 7 p.m. at Bohler Gym.
