Three Cougars Earn All-Pac-10 Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Washington State seniors Carmen Anderson and Katie Hultin were named to the 2005 Pacific-10 All-Conference second team while sophomore Shaye Harrel earned honorable mention accolades Commissioner Tom Hansen announced Thursday.

Anderson led the Cougars in 2005 with seven goals, four assists and 16 points. The Kennewick, Wash., native netted two game-winners this season and recorded her first multiple-goal match with a two-goal performance in the Cougars' 2-0 win over No. 19 Arizona Oct. 16.

The 2005 co-captain is a two-time Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention honoree and finished her WSU career with 10 goals, four assists and 24 points in 40 starts in the Cougar midfield and defense.

Redshirt senior Katie Hultin earned All-Pac-10 second team honors for the second consecutive year.

Hultin posted a 10-7-2 overall record in 2005 recording seven solo shutouts and earning second team honors for the second consecutive year. Hultin's 2005 performance ranks her second in shutouts (7) and tied for third in wins (10) in the Cougar single season record books. The co-captain boasted a .792 saves percentage making 84 stops in 2005.

The Denver, Colo., owns the top spot on the Cougar career shutout list with 21 and ranks second in saves (248), third in wins (23) and fourth in goals against average (1.03). Hultin finished her WSU career 23-22-6 overall with 52 starts in the Cougar net.

The biology major is a two-time Pac-10 All honorable mention honoree and was named to the 2004 CoSIDA Academic All-District VIII (8) team.

Sophomore Shaye Harrel earned 2005 All-Pac-10 honorable mention accolades.

Harrel made 14 starts for WSU in 2005 earning two assists and taking 16 shots. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native is formidable presence in the Cougar midfield contributing 31 shots and three assists in two seasons at WSU.

The Cougars finished tied for fifth in the Pac-10 with an 11-7-2 overall record and 4-4-1 in conference play.
