Hartley Wins 1-Meter At Trojan Diving Invite

USC's Blythe Hartley and Arizona's Tiffany Manning won women's events and Arizona's John Collier and Texas's Bailey Gao won men's events on the first day of the Trojan Diving Invitational at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium on Friday (Nov. 11).

Hartley, a three-time NCAA champion, won the 1-meter springboard (309.25) ahead of second-place Manning (285.85). Manning won the 3-meter (269.95), edging UCLA's Marisa Samaniego (267.95). Hartley did not compete in the 3-meter.

Gao won the men's 3-meter (353.70) ahead of second-place Collier (348.85). The pair were reversed on 1-meter, with Collier winning, 333.15 to 320.05.

USC's Kenny Jenkins was third on 1-meter (315.45) and fourth on 3-meter (319.05) while freshman teammate Koltin Stratiner was eighth on 3-meter (225.00) and 11th on 1-meter (224.80).

USC sophomore Ali Tycast was fifth on 3-meter (245.45) while sophomore Kathryn Lewallen was 11th (208.85) and senior Lindsay Draper was 12th (206.20). Lewallen was also 11th on 1-meter (199.20).

The platform competition begins at 11 a.m. on Saturday (Nov. 12). Admission is free.
