Masson, Mellouli, Jenkins Big Aquatic Winners On Saturday

Junior Sam Masson won three butterfly events and senior Ous Mellouli won three IM races for No. 8 USC against No. 6 Texas in a non-scoring distance meet at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium on Saturday (Nov. 12).

Masson won events in the 50y (22.66), 100y (49.36) and 150y butterfly (1:19.84). Mellouli won individual medley races at 100 (51.52), 300 (2:53.67) and 600 (6:00.83) yards.

Senior Tyler Storie won the 400y free in 3:40.65 and took the marathon-length 2000y free in 19:11.71. Freshman Evan Marcus was second in the race (19:38.86) and sophomore William Antisdale was third (19:40.51). Antisdale and Marcus were second and third, respectively, in the 400y free.

Junior Mihaly Flaskay won the 50y (26:08) and 100y breast (56.42).


USC junior Kenny Jenkins won the men's platform and Arizona's Tiffany Manning won the women's platform on the final day of the Trojan Diving Invitational on Saturday (Nov. 12) at USC's McDonald's Swim Stadium.

Jenkins won with 269.65 points ahead of second-place Pat Sullivan of Stanford (254.30). Trojan freshman Koltin Stratiner was seventh (198.10).

Manning finished first with 267.20, ahead of Trojan sophomore Ali Tycast in second (218.65). USC sophomore Kim Popp (183.50) was ninth and senior Lindsay Draper was 10th (183.15).
