Stanford, Calif. (AP) - Fred Washington scored 17 points, including going 9-of-9 from the free throw line, and No. 13 Stanford manhandled Division III Cal Poly Pomona 99-70 on Saturday in its final exhibition game.

Matt Haryasz scored 12 of his 21 points in the first five minutes of the second half as the Cardinal held a double-digit lead for all but the game's opening five minutes. Tim Morris added 13 points.

Peter Prowitt made two free throws with 2:51 left in the first half to give Stanford a 46-20 lead but the Broncos scored 11 straight points -- nine on 3-pointers from Hervey Malone II -- to close within 15 points. Carlton Weatherby hit a layup at the buzzer to give Stanford a 48-31 lead.

Cal Poly Pomona's Dion Cook had 26 points, going 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

The Broncos, who have won 20 or more games the past three seasons, couldn't handle Stanford's quickness, which led to 35 fouls and Stanford went 34-of-44 from the line. Cal Poly Pomona committed 23 turnovers.
