UW Advances in Consolation Bracket at Match Play

Howey-in-the-Hills, FL - The Washington women's golf team rebounded to win their consolation match against UC Irvine after losing its opening round match with Michigan State at the 2005 Collegiate Match Play Championships. The 16-team tournament is being played at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
The eighth-seeded Huskies downed UC Irvine 4-1-0 on Saturday morning after being forced into the consolation bracket following a 3-1-1 loss to ninth-seed Michigan State.
The Huskies will face Tulane Saturday in the semifinals of the consolation bracket.
Mackenzie was the only Husky to earn a win vs. Michigan State in the opening round loss. She defeated Mandi McConnell 5 and 4. Prange managed to halve her match.
