Bruins Record Big Exhibition Win

UCLA scored the first 15 points of the game and went on to post a 103-62 win over Play Mode in its final exhibition contest of the season. Four Bruins scored in double digits, including guards Noelle Quinn and Lisa Willis who topped the attack with 21 points each.
Quinn scored seven of the first 15 points in the game and added a team-best nine rebounds. Willis, who made five three-point shots, grabbed six rebounds and had three steals. Sophomore forward Lindsey Pluimer totaled 17 points, eight boards and two blocked shots. Junior forward Amanda Livingston was the fourth Bruin in double digits with 10 points.
UCLA shot 57 percent from the field in the first half and enjoyed a 51-35 halftime advantage. Quinn had 15 points at the break, Pluimer had 14 and Willis scored 10. The Bruins led by as many as 21 points in that first half. Livingston sparked the Bruins early in the second half, scoring all 10 of her points. UCLA built the lead up to as much as 45 points in the later stages of the contest.
Thirteen Bruin scored in the contest. UCLA dominated the boards by a 56-30 margin and forced 22 turnovers by Play Mode. Nikki Blue and Ashlee Trebilcock each handed out a team-high four assists for the Bruins.
The Bruins will open the regular season on Friday, Nov. 18 at defending national champion Baylor at 5 p.m. Pacific time. Fox Sports Net will televise the game. UCLA will play its first home game of the season on Tuesday, Nov. 22 against BYU at 7 p.m. in Pauley Pavilion.
