Oregon Routs Savannah State, 83-23

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - Chamberlain Oguchi scored 19 points and Ray Schafer added 15 as Oregon opened its season with an 83-23 victory over Savannah State in the Hispanic College Fund Classic at McArthur Court.
Schafer, a sophomore center, scored the first seven points of the game and finished the first half with a career-high 13 points on 6-of-6 shooting.
Oguchi, a reserve guard, hit 6-of-8 shots as he also established a career-high. Mailk Hairston added 12 points for Oregon (1-0), while Bryce Taylor scored 11.
The Ducks shot 60 percent from the field and outrebounded the Tigers 34-22.
Javon Randolph led Savannah State with 10 points.
The Ducks opened on a 17-0 run. Tigers scored their first points at the 10:50 mark, on a hook shot by Antonie Bronner. But Oregon followed with a 14-3 run and took a 31-5 lead following a putback by Schafer with 3:55 left in the half.
The Ducks led at the break 42-10.
Savannah State, which ended a 65-game losing streak on Friday with a 63-59 win against Wilberforce University, missed their first nine shots and turned the ball over seven times before scoring.
For the game, the Tigers hit 7-of-40 from the field (17.5 percent) and turned the ball over 27 times.
