MBB Signs National Letter of Intent

Nov 24, 2005

BOULDER - University of Colorado head basketball coach Ricardo Patton announced the signing of Kalvin Bay to a National Letter of Intent to play college basketball and continue his education in Boulder for the 2006-07 season.

Bay, a 6-2, 170-pound senior at Marcos de Niza High School in Tempe, Arizona, was a first team all-State, all-City and all-Conference selection in 2004-05.

As a junior, Bay was third in the state of Arizona in scoring (22.1 ppg.) and first in assists (7.0 apg.). He also averaged four rebounds and 1.8 steals per game. An excellent free throw shooter, Bay connected on 93 percent (180 attempts) and made 39 consecutive free throws, twice.

"Kalvin's a true point-guard, he can really shoot, handle and distribute the basketball," said Patton. "He's good basketball player with a great understanding of the game."

Bay is the sixth prep basketball player who has signed a national letter of intent to play for the Buffaloes in 2006-07.
