Felder, Follett Receive Freshman All-America Honors

BERKELEY - Freshman linebackers Anthony Felder and Zack Follett were named to the 2005 Rivals.com Freshman All-America first team, announced Tuesday. The Golden Bears are one of five teams to have two players named to the first team, joining Arkansas, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas A&M.

Felder, a native of Shoreline, Wash., started seven games for the Bears, racking up 35 tackles (23 solo), including 1.5 tackles for a loss of three yards. A graduate of O'Dea HS, Felder recorded a season-best eight stops against Illinois and seven tackles at New Mexico State, including a sack.

Follett, who hails from Clovis, Calif., finished with 29 tackles, including a season-best five stops against Illinois and Oregon State. The freshman from Clovis HS ended his freshman campaign with a forced fumble (vs. Washington), a pass breakup (vs. Oregon State, Oregon) and a recovered fumble (vs. Stanford).

In 2004, Marshawn Lynch was awarded second-team All-America honors by Rivals.com.
