UCLA Outruns UC Irvine, 92-54

Los Angeles, Calif. - The 23rd-ranked UCLA women's basketball team ran off to an easy 92-54 win over visiting UC Irvine in Pauley Pavilion. The Bruins scored the first nine points in the game and never looked back. Thirteen UCLA players scored in the game, led by Noelle Quinn, who scored 24 points as the Bruins won their third straight game.
UCLA jumped out to a quick 18-4 lead after just under four minutes. Lisa Willis keyed the early start, scoring 10 of those 18 points on two three-pointers and two layups. UC Irvine went on a run of its own, scoring 10 unanswered points of their own to cut the lead to four at 13:02, 18-14. The Bruins answered with seven straight points to increase their lead to 11 at 25-14, then went on to post a 13-2 run to give themselves a 20-point lead at 40-20 with 2:33 to play in the first half.
The Bruins got off to another quick start at the beginning of the second half, scoring the first seven points and outscoring the Anteaters 15-2 in the first four and a half minutes to take a 61-28 lead with 15:38 to play. A Willis three-pointer increased the lead to 34, 67-33 with 11:45 to play, and the Anteaters never got closer than 28.
Willis scored 20 for her third consecutive 20-point game. She has scored in double figures in 22 straight games. Also scoring in double figures were Nikki Blue with 13 points. Lindsey Pluimer and Chinyere Ibekwe led the Bruins with 11 rebounds each. The Bruins totaled 65 rebounds in all (21 on the offensive end) and held the Anteaters to 27.4% shooting (20-73). UC Irvine was led by Kirian Ishizaki, who scored 10 points, all in the first half.
