COUGARS HOST WILDCATS: The Washington State men's basketball team hosts Kansas State at Friel Court, Saturday, Dec. 3 at 2 will be televised on FOX Sports Midwest.

ABOUT THE HEAD COACHES: Dick Bennett is 28-33 at Washington State and in his third season on the Palouse...owns a 482-290 career record (.624) in 27 collegiate seasons...guided Wisconsin to 2000 Final Four...Jim Woolridge is 72-77, including 4-0 this season, and in his sixth season at Kansas record is 301-224 and he is in his 19th season.

SERIES WITH KANSAS STATE: Kansas State leads 2-1, including a 62-55 win in Manhattan, Kan., last season...first meeting in Pullman...other games in the series are a 47-22 Cougar win in Seattle, Dec. 20, 1941 and a 63-39 Wildcat home victory, Dec. 22, 1949.

RARE WEST COAST TRIP FOR THE WILDCATS: Kansas State is making its first trip to the state of Washington since a 74-60 loss at Washington, Dec. 9, 1995...Wildcats played Loyola (Maryland) and California in Oakland during 1995-96 season...since then, 90-77 win at Long Beach State, Dec. 12, 1998 and 87-82 triple-overtime loss at Oregon State, Dec. 6, 2003 are only games played on the West Coast.

THIS DATE IN COUGAR HISTORY: Brian Quinnett scored a game-high 18 points as Washington State routed Delaware State 93-39, Dec. 3, 1988 in Akron, Ohio...Cougars led 39-21 at intermission and held Hornets to 18 percent shooting from the floor in the second half...margin of victory tied for fifth largest in WSU history and biggest in last 65 seasons...a baker's dozen Cougars scored in the victory.

WASHINGTON STATE NEWCOMERS CONTRIBUTING: The Cougars have eight new faces this season, including a pair of walk-ons...WSU newcomers have accounted for 38 percent of the minutes played and are contributing 43 percent of the scoring...junior transfer forward Ivory Clark is tied with returnee Derrick Low for the team-lead in scoring at 12.7 points per game...Clark also leads the team with nine blocks and is second among Cougars with 4.8 rebounds per game...newcomers have recorded 32 percent of the team's rebounds...first-year Cougars are shooting 56 percent from the field led by true freshman center Aron Baynes at 70 percent.

COUGAR SCORING UP: Washington State is averaging 70.0 points per game this season...Cougars averaged 56.9 points per game during Dick Bennett's first two seasons...WSU has scored 280 points through four games, eclipsing the five-game total of 2003-04 (274) and 2004-05 (239).

BENCH SCORING: Washington State is averaging 23.5 points per game this season off the bench...Aron Baynes scored 19 points off the bench in the Cougars' 81-55 season-opening victory over UC Riverside, Nov. 19...against Idaho, Nov. 26, Cougar bench players tallied 31 points in 63-37 victory.

  • Won 60-51 at USC, Feb. 7, 2004 to snap seven-game losing streak at USC...first season sweep of USC since 1985-86...completed first road sweep of Los Angeles schools in WSU history.
  • Won 60-51 vs. Stanford in Spokane, Dec, 31, 2004 to break 17-game losing streak against Cardinal.
