Tara Kirk Swims 100 Fly Prelim At U.S. Open

Auburn, Ala. - Former Stanford swimmer Tara Kirk (2000-04) swam in the prelims of the 100 fly Friday on the second day of action at 2005 U.S. Open being held at the James E. Martin Aquatic Center. Kirk was 19th during prelim action and qualified for the 'C' final but did not swim in the finals of the event.

Kirk is expected to compete in the 200 breaststroke on the final day of the three-day meet on Sunday. She won the 100 breast in a new U.S. Open Meet record time of 1:07.36 on Thursday.
