#24 Women Of Troy Battles Past Lions

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - (lmulions.com) #24 USC (4-2) held on for a 59-53 victory over Loyola Marymount (1-6) this evening at Gersten Pavilion. Camille LeNoir and Jamie Hayiga led USC with 13 points. Ashlee Dunlap led all players with 15 points and 11 rebounds. USC is the third ranked opponent that LMU has faced in the last four games.
LMU pulled out to an 11-6 lead in the first seven minutes of the game, but the Women of Troy battled back to take a 30-19 lead into the intermission.
The Lions cut the lead to three points in the opening minutes of the second half, but USC had back to back three-pointers to take a 10 point lead, 41-31 with 11 minutes left in the game.
LMU cut the lead to six points, 50-44, with 4:23 remaining but Jamie Hagiya hit back to back three-pointers to extend the lead to 12 points with under three minutes remaining in the game.
Rachael Ziemann made a three pointer with 51 seconds remaining to cut the lead to five points, 56-51. The Women of Troy missed 6 of 9 free throw attempts in the final 1:16, but the Lions could not score when they got the ball back.
Dunlap recorded her third double double of the season, and Bianca Ziemann added 13 points. Bronwyn Evans grabbed nine rebounds for the Lions.
Jamie Funn recorded a double double for the Women of Troy with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Hagiya had three three-pointers as part of her 13 points.
