COUGARS TRAVEL TO BULLDOGS AND AZTECS: The Washington State men's basketball team makes its first road trip of the season this week...plays at No. 9/11 (AP/USA Today) Gonzaga (4-2), Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. (FSN Northwest/KHQ) and at San Diego State (4-2, plays at California, Dec. 6), Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8 p.m. (Chanel 4-San Diego)...game in San Diego part of San Diego SLAM...Fresno State and San Diego play at 5:30 p.m.
ABOUT THE HEAD COACHES: Dick Bennett is 29-33 at Washington State and in his third season on the Palouse...owns a 483-290 career record (.625) in 27 collegiate seasons...guided Wisconsin to 2000 Final Four...Gonzaga's Mark Few is 163-39 in his career, including 4-2 this season, and in his seventh season, all with the Bulldogs...San Diego State Head Coach Steve Fisher is 85-99 and in his seventh season with the Aztecs...overall record is 269-181 and he is in his 15th season...Bennett is 0-2 against Mark Few, both at WSU...won two of three games against Fisher when the former was at Wisconsin and the latter at Michigan...Bennett's Badgers knocked off Fisher's 21st-ranked Wolverines in 1995-96 and 13th-ranked squad in 1996-97.
