USC's Gabe Pruitt Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - USC guard Gabe Pruitt has been named the U.S. Bank Pacific-10 Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for December 5 - 11, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
Pruitt, a sophomore from Los Angeles, Calif., scored a career-best 36 points in USC's 71-69 win at Loyola Marymount, making him the 12th Trojan in the school's 100-year history to score at least 36 points in a game.
Pruitt scored 20 of his points in the first half, hitting five 3-pointers and shooting 13-of-19 from the field. He posted eight of USC's last nine points in the the last 4:46 of the game, helping to hold onto the win.
USC (5-2, 0-0 Pac-10) has won five consecutive games, its longest winning streak since the 2001-02 season, when it won nine straight. The Trojans will host Western Michigan on Fri., Dec. 16 and Alcorn State on Sun., Dec. 18.
This is the first weekly honor for Pruitt and USC's 25th Player of the Week all-time.
