  • ARIZONA (4-3, 0-0)... The Wildcats out-shot both Northern Arizona and Saint Mary's in wins last week. It marked the third time this season (Virginia) that Arizona has posted a better field goal percentage than the opposition. How important is that? Since the start of the 2003-04 season, Arizona is 44-5 (.898) when shooting better than the opposition. Arizona is 3-0 this season when accomplishing the feat ... Freshman F Marcus Williams averaged 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.5 assists in both wins last week. He hit 12-of-23 (.522) field goal attempts and added a block and two steals in 68 minutes played. On the year, Williams is averaging 8.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game ... Arizona continues to force the turnovers, as opponents are averaging 22.0 turnovers per game. Opponents have turned the ball over 20 or more times in five of seven games to date.

  • ARIZONA STATE (4-2, 0-0)... Freshman F Jeff Pendergraph posted a career-high 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds and added three blocked shots in ASU's loss to Utah Valley State ... Junior G Bryson Krueger has hit eight of his last 11 three-point attempts (.727). He leads the league in three-point percentage (.619).

  • CALIFORNIA (6-2, 0-0)... Sophomore F Leon Powe continues to impress in his return to the floor. In four games, he's collected three double-doubles and has led the team in scoring and rebounds in each of those games. Powe is averaging 22.8 points and 9.8 rebounds ... California will meet DePaul in the Pete Newell Challenge on Wed., Dec. 21. It's the only game the Bears have scheduled to play before opening league play at USC on Thur., Dec. 29.

  • OREGON (4-3, 0-0)... After opening the season with four straight wins, the Ducks have lost three straight. The last time the Ducks opened the year at 4-3 was in 2001-02. Identical to this year, that Oregon squad won their first four games before dropping three in a row. That 2001-02 Oregon team went on to win the Pac-10 title and reached the NCAA Elite Eight ... The Ducks haven't lost four straight non-conference games since the 1993-94 season ... Sophomore F Malik Hairston has scored in double figures in each game this season and is averaging 15.3 points per game.

  • OREGON STATE (2-3, 0-0)... Senior F Nick DeWitz ranks ninth on the school's all-time list for blocked shots. He's accumulated 65 blocked shots in just 31 games. He's averaging 2.10 block shots per game for his career ... Senior G Chris Stephens has tallied 151 three-pointers in his career as a Beaver. That ranks fifth on the OSU all-time list. He's got a good shot at climbing to top of the list before the end of the season. The school record holder is Daundra Tanner who made 179 three-pointers from 1998-2001.

  • STANFORD (2-3, 0-0)... After a 13-day break in the schedule, the Cardinal resume action on Sat., Dec. 17 when they meet Virginia Tech in the Las Vegas Showdown (ESPN broadcast) ... After shooting 3-of-18 (.167) from the field in the first two games, sophomore G Tim Morris has found his touch over the last three games, shooting 12-of-20 (.600) from the field. He scored a career-best 15 points on 7-of-10 shooting against UC Davis.

  • UCLA (7-1, 0-0)... Freshman F Luc Richard Mbah a Moute has led the Bruins in rebounding in each game this season. He's averaging 8.9 rebounds per game ... UCLA's 7-1 start is the best under coach Ben Howland. It's UCLA's best start since a 9-1 start to the 1997-98 season ... UCLA held Nevada to .373 from the field (it was Nevada's season-low). It was the fourth time this season UCLA has held an opponent to under .400 from the field - the Bruins are 4-0 in those games.

  • USC (5-2, 0-0)... USC has won five straight - its longest win streak since winning nine straight during the 2002 season ... Sophomore G Gabe Pruitt scored a career-high 36 points in USC's win at Loyola Marymount. It was the most points scored by a Trojan since Desmon Farmer scored 40 points against Arizona on Jan. 15, 2004 ... Sophomore F Nick Young has scored in double figures in each game this season. He's fourth in the league, averaging 16.6 points per game.

  • WASHINGTON (8-0, 0-0)... At 8-0, the Huskies are off to their best start since opening the 1975-76 season at 14-0 ... Four or more Huskies have scored in double figures in each game this season ... Senior F Bobby Jones needs 12 points to reach 1,000 points for his career ... Senior F Jamaal Williams has posted back-to-back 22 point games and shot an identical 10-of-16 from the field in each game ... Dating back to the middle of the 2003-04 season, the Huskies have won 51 of their last 61 games.

  • WASHINGTON STATE (5-2, 0-0)... The Cougars have used five different starting lineups in seven games this season ... Washington State has picked up where it left off on defense last season. The Cougars led the league allowing just 59.3 points per game last season. This year, the Cougars are allowing a league low 55.4 points. In their five victories this season, the Cougars are holding the opposition to 49.0 points per game.
