Trojans Extend Winning Streak to SiX Games

LOS ANGELES (AP) - Nick Young had 19 points and eight rebounds to lead Southern California to a 77-62 victory over Western Michigan on Friday night at the Sports Arena.

Lodrick Stewart added 16 points and Gabe Pruitt had 14 points and six assists for the Trojans (6-2), who extended their longest winning streak in four seasons to six games.

The Trojans won nine consecutive games in 2001-02.

Brian Snider had 15 points, eight assists and four steals for the Broncos (2-4), who lost for the fourth time in five games. Stane's Bufford added 12 points.

Western Michigan used a 7-0 run to take a 7-5 lead but Stewart scored 10 points during a 21-2 spree that put USC ahead 26-9 with 10:02 left in the first half.

The Trojans made 10 of 11 free throws during that run, led by as many as 22 points in the first half and shot 63.6 percent in the half.

The Broncos scored just seven points and made only one basket in a span of 10:32 during the first half.
