Three Bruins To Play In All-Star Games

Dec. 23, 2005

UCLA tight end Marcedes Lewis, inside linebacker Spencer Havner and quarterback Drew Olson have been selected to play in post-season all-star games.

Lewis, winner of the John Mackey Award as the nation's top tight end and a consensus All-American, will play in the Senior Bowl. That game is scheduled for January 28 in Mobile, AL and will be televised by ESPN2.

Havner, a semifinalist for the Butkus Award and Lombardi Award and UCLA's leading tackler for the second straight year, will also play in the Senior Bowl.

Olson, who set numerous UCLA passing records this season en route to an eighth-place finish in the Heisman Trophy balloting, has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine Game. That game is scheduled for January 21 at 1:00 p.m. PT and will be played, for the first time ever, in the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX. It will also be televised by ESPN2.
