Alexander Earns Spot On Canada's Under-20 National Team Roster

PULLMAN, Wash. - Washington State sophomore Molly Alexander earned a spot on the Canadian Under-20 Women's National Team roster and will travel to Veracruz, Mexico, as the squad competes at the 2006 Confederation of North and Central American and Caribbean Football Qualifying Tournament Jan. 18-27.

Canada is the reigning CONCACAF champion and looks to defend its title against U-20 teams from Canada, El Salvador, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, Surinam, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States. The tournament will determine the region's three representatives for the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) U-20 Women's World Championship in Russia this summer.

Alexander makes her first appearance on the U-20 roster after being active in the Canadian national team system on the U-16 and U-17 teams and being a member of the U-19 and U-20 national team pools. The Vancouver, British Columbia, native made 11 starts in 19 appearances in the Cougar midfield, taking eight shots and tallying one goal in WSU's 2005 campaign.
