DALLAS - Sophomores Richard Roby (Colorado) and Daniel Gibson (Texas) and juniors Michael Neal (Oklahoma) and Torre Johnson (Oklahoma State) have been named Phillips 66 Big 12 Conference Players and Rookies of the Week for games of Jan. 16-22 in voting by a panel of media covering the conference.  Roby and Johnson earn honors for the second straight week, while Gibson and Neal garner accolades for the first time in 2005-06.

Richard Roby, Colorado, G, So., 6-6, 195, San Bernardino, Calif./Lawrence Academy (Mass.)

Roby wins the honor for the second time in as many weeks after leading Colorado to two victories.  The sophomore guard averaged 24.0 points and 7.0 rebounds, as the Buffaloes defeated Baylor (81-48) and won at Oklahoma State (80-78, ot) for the first time since 1980.  He had game-highs for points in both games, with 21 versus the Bears and 27 against the Cowboys.  He shot 52.6 percent (20-of-38) from the floor in two games, including 5-of-12 from 3-point range.  Roby grabbed six steals against OSU, a school record for a CU player in a Big 12 contest. Roby is the first CU player in school history to earn back-to-back weekly conference honors.

Daniel Gibson, Texas, G, So., 6-2, 190, Houston, Texas/Jones

Gibson averaged 26.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals in helping Texas extend its win streak to eight games last week.  The sophomore guard shot 70.4 percent (19-of-27) in two games, including 13-of-20 (.650) from 3-point range.  He started the week with 16 points in a 80-46 win over Texas Tech.  On Saturday, he had a career-high 37 points at Baylor.  In that game, he held BU's top returning scorer (Aaron Bruce) to two points.

Michael Neal, Oklahoma, G, Jr., 6-3, 191, Mesquite, Texas/Lon Morris Junior College

Neal scored a game-high tying 15 points in Oklahoma's only game of the week, a 60-48 victory over Texas Tech.  The junior guard played 21 minutes off the bench, making four 3-pointers in the last four minutes to break open a close contest.  He was 5-of-9 from the field overall and added two steals.  Neal is averaging 10.5 points per game this season.

Torre Johnson, Oklahoma State, F, Jr., 6-7, 210, Milwaukee, Wis./Juneau/Garden City CC

Johnson also wins the rookie accolade for the third time.  The junior forward recorded a double-double in the Cowboys' only game of the week with 20 points and 10 rebounds versus CU.  He was 8-of-12 (.667) from the field and 4-of-5 (.800) from the free throw line.  It was Johnson's second straight double-double and his third this season.  He also had two assists in 28 minutes.  The three Big 12 rookie honors tied Johnson (Maurice Baker, 2000-01) for the most in Oklahoma State history.
