Jordan Harvey Selected By Colorado In MLS Supplemental Draft
Jan. 26, 2006
Senior defender Jordan Harvey was selected by the Colorado Rapids as the ninth player in the 2006 Major League Soccer (MLS) Supplemental Draft on Thursday morning. Harvey will join former Bruin teammates Marvell Wynne, Patrick Ianni and Jonathan Bornstein, who were selected in last week's SuperDraft, in the league.
Harvey, a 5-11 defender from Mission Viejo, Calif., was selected UCLA's Defensive MVP in 2005 and was also named to the Top Drawer Soccer National Team of the Season (second-team) and to the All-Pac-10 second team for his third career conference honor. Harvey ranked fourth on the team in scoring in 2005 with three goals and eight points and was named the Pac-10 and Soccer America's Player of the Week after scoring two goals in a weekend sweep of Cal and Stanford in September. A member of several U.S. Youth National teams throughout his career, Harvey was the co-captain of the U.S. Under-17 squad in 2000-01 and was the 2001-02 Gatorade National Player of the Year.
