California Falls to No. 14 Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. - The California women's gymnastics team set a new season-high on the vault and several gymnast set season-highs in their individual events, but No. 14 Arizona was too much for the Golden Bears as Cal falls 195.875-191.325.
The Bears recorded a season-best 48.000 on the vault against the Wildcats. California was led on the vault by senior Britani Pittullo, who posted a season-high 9.750 in the event. Junior Isabel Garcia also collected her season-high (9.625).
Freshman Jessica Kelley competed in the all-around competition tallying her best marks yet as a Bear. The native of Los Altos, Calif., recorded a career-best 38.600. Her marks included 9.675 (vault), 9.700 (bars), 9.525 (beam) and 9.700 (floor). Pittullo, who also competed in the all-around, tied her season-high 38.200.
Garcia's 9.625 on the vault was not the only new season-high the junior set on Friday night. She posted a 9.500 on the beam and tied her season-high 9.650 on the floor.
Two Golden Bear gymnast competed for the first time in their individual events. Junior Justine Cephus competed for the first time this season on the vault (9.450) and bars (7.800). Freshman Tiffany Tam competed for the first time on the beam collecting a 9.675 in her first collegiate meet.
The Golden Bears return to the Bay Area to face Stanford in the Big Meet on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. (PST) in Haas Pavilion.
