Noelle Quinn Named U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Walnut Creek, Calif. - UCLA junior guard Noelle Quinn has been namedthe U.S. Bank Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan.23-29, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.
The Los Angeles, Calif., native led the Bruins to a weekend sweepagainst No. 11/13 Stanford (90-80) and California (90-87 OT) thatpropelled UCLA into a four-way tie for second place in the Conferencestandings. Quinn recorded a season-high 25 points to go along with 10rebounds, four assists and no turnovers in the win over Stanford,which marked UCLA's first win against the Cardinal since 2000.
Against California, she equaled her season-best with 25 points andalso added 11 rebounds and a season-high seven assists. In theovertime period, Quinn gave UCLA a quick lead with a three-pointer atthe 4:31 mark. Her free throws with six seconds remaining clinchedthe win for the Bruins.
With her fourth point against Stanford, Quinn became the 22nd Bruinplayer to record 1,000 career points. She now has 1,046 to rank 21ston the all-time UCLA list, while her six double-doubles this seasonbring her career total to 17. Quinn has three double-doubles in herlast four games and has scored 20 points or more in four straightgames and five of her last six.
A 2005-06 pre-season Wooden Award All-American, Quinn was named the2004 Pac-10 Freshman of the Year and a honorable mention All-Pac-10selection in 2005.
UCLA (12-8, 7-4), will travel to the Arizona schools this weekend,facing the Sun Devils on Thurs., Feb 2 and the Wildcats on Sat., Feb. 4.
This is Quinn's seventh Pac-10 Player of the Week honor and UCLA's35th weekly honor all-time. She is one award shy of tying the all-time career Player of the Week honors (8).
