Paige Thompson Named Pac-10 Diver of the Month for January

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - UCLA diver Paige Thompson has been named Pac-10 Women's Diver of the Month for January, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Thompson a senior from Phoenix, Ariz., placed in every January meet for the Bruins. In Indiana, the senior finished third in both the one-meter and three-meter events, scoring 289.95 and 305.55, respectively.

Against Stanford, Thompson scored 302.48 to win the three-meter event, and finished second on the one-meter board, scoring 273.00. Against Cal, Thompson swept both the springboard events. After winning on the one-meter board (260.48), Thompson set a meet record, scoring 316.50 to win the three-meter.

Thompson has also qualified on both 1M and 3M for the NCAA Zone Championships next month.

This is the second monthly honor for Thompson and UCLA's second Diver of the Month honor all-time. Thompson is the first female diver in the Conference to win the award in back-to-back months.
