Women's Golf Tied For Seventh At Regional Challenge

Palos Verdes, Calif. - The Stanford women's golf team opened play at the Northrup Grumman Regional Challenge with a 305 (+21) and are tied for seventh place overall heading into the second round. Arizona State leads the field with a nine-over 293, followed by USC (296), California (296), UCLA (301) and Wake Forest (301). Rounding out the top 10 are Oklahoma State (304), Stanford (305), Florida (305), Arkansas (309) and Pepperdine (311).

Individually the Cardinal are led by Kelly Husted, who shot a two-over 73 today and is tied for eighth on the individual leaderboard. Teammate Mari Chun is tied for 15 just two strokes back with a 75. Stanford's Ki-Shui Liao is tied for 40th with a seven-over 78 while Jennifer Tangtiphaiboontana is tied for 50th at eight over 79. Teammate Stephanie Lue checks in tied for 67th with a 10-over 81 on the day.

Three players are tied for first overall with a one-under 70 - UCLA's Susie Matthews, ASU's Jennifer Osborn and California's Sophia Sheridan. Four players are tied for fourth at one-over 72.

Second round action continues tomorrow at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
