Cal Earns No. 1 Ranking

BERKELEY, Calif. - California, with a 6-0 record (3-0 Pac-10), earned the No. 1 ranking in the latest College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) national top 25 rankings. The Golden Bears were previously ranked No. 2 in the CSCAA rankings. The last time Cal was ranked No. 1 by the CSCAA was last spring, after the Bears beat Stanford to complete an undefeated (9-0, 4-0 Pac-10) dual-meet season.

Cal, which beat USC, 134-109, on Feb. 3 in its most recent competitive meet, likewise closes this year's dual-meet season when it faces fifth-ranked Stanford at 1 p.m. on Saturday on the Farm.

The rest of the CSCAA top five is as follows: Defending NCAA champion Auburn is ranked No. 2; USC, which beat Stanford on Feb. 4. after losing to Cal on Feb. 3, is No. 3; Florida is No. 4; and Stanford is No. 5.
